The Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) was established under the Tanzania Trade Development Authority Act No.4 of 2009 as amended by Business Laws (miscellaneous) Act No. 3 of 2012. Vested with regulatory, executive, advisory and consultative powers in relation to its function of developing trade in Tanzania.
TanTrade has an extended mandate of developing both internal and external trade, therefore, Strategically, the Authority has been established to develop a strong domestic culture and create its linkage to foreign markets by building its trading capacity in general.
Objectively, the Authority was established to implement the National Trade Policy (2003), Export Development Strategy, Trade Integration Strategy and sectoral policies all which aim at developing and promoting Tanzania’s Internal and external trade.
